Treatment with Dental Veneers

Prior to treatment, Dr. Christy will assess your teeth and gums. You can discuss your budget, goals, and oral health with her in order to determine if porcelain veneers are the right option for you.

To begin, Dr. Christy will prepare your tooth enamel by removing some of the tooth structure from the front and sides of your teeth. She will then take an impression or mold of the teeth. While your custom-made porcelain veneers are being crafted in a lab, Dr. Christy will provide you with temporary porcelain veneers. Once completed, the custom porcelain veneers are bonded to teeth with porcelain ceramic material. Dr. Christy may make some adjustments to make sure the porcelain veneers are the right size and shape.

Porcelain veneers are also resistant to staining and can last for years with proper dental care. You can still get cavities under your veneers, so it is important to keep on brushing and flossing twice a day. Avoid chewing on hard objects or nail-biting as the veneers may chip or break. If you feel any discomfort or a change in the fit of the veneers, call our office and we will fix it as soon as possible. Your comfort is our top priority.
